The goal came in the ninth minute and brought the game back to 1-1. This was the youngster's first Premier League goal and was assisted by Noah Sadiki. He will hope one comes soon as he earns more time, likely working at a bigger role next campaign.
Signs long-term contract
Rigg has signed a new long-term contract with Sunderland, according to his club.
Analysis: Rigg is extending his stay with Sunderland a bit longer after receiving a new contract, now signed with the club until 2030. He was an important part of their promotion team last season, starting in 37 of his 45 appearances while bagging four goals and an assist. That said, he will hope to help the team remain in the Premier League, only appearing off the bench once thus far.
